Melody has over a decade of teaching experience, and has taught both privately and in academies. She holds a Master’s degree from UBC and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta, both in Piano Performance. Her teachers have included Alexandra Munn, Patricia Tao, Janet Scott-Hoyt, Jane Coop and Rena Sharon.

Melody is passionate about music and strongly believes in the benefits of musical pursuit, whether serious or casual, across all ages and levels. She strives to teach in a creative and non-threatening manner, with open communication between teacher, student and parents. She provides a well-rounded approach to the practical sides of playing, balanced with theory, good musicianship and disciplined practice methods. She has prepared students successfully for RCM examinations and local festivals and competitions. Above all, she encourages students to enjoy themselves, face challenges without fear and make music!
