We are excited to announce details of our annual spring recital in 2016!
Date: June 4, 2016 (Saturday)
Time: Part One 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Door Opens at 1:30 p.m.)
Part Two 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Door Opens at 4:00 p.m.)
Place: West Point Grey Baptist Church (4509 West 11th Avenue)
Since our studio is expanding and we decided to save everyone from a three hour long recital with thirty students performing, we will have two groups playing at the two different times. We will hand out the details at your lessons soon!
The difference from last year is that there won’t be any rehearsal time. Considering how well everyone played at the Winter Party, we think it will not be necessary. However, we take this recital very seriously as the showcase of each student’s progress during the year, so if there is any feedback regarding having a rehearsal time, please let us know!
Lastly, participation for the recital is not mandatory but we highly recommend it. For those who feel they are not ready to play at this one, you are still encouraged to drop in and hear how your studio mates are doing and get an idea of what a recital performance is like! This is an open event, so please do invite your friends and families to celebrate your musical achievement!

Exciting news for our studio!
It has finally started to rain a bit more in Vancouver after the very hot and dry summer. In our studio, we tune our piano at least twice a year because of the seasonal humidity changes. Humidity and temperature are key to keep your piano in good condition. When the humidity is balanced, all the wooden parts on the piano are nicely expanded; however, they shrink when it gets too dry and that pulls on the strings. The stretching and shrinking are what messes up the tuning on a piano. Also if the temperature changes and air-conditioners or heaters are used to retain a comfortable temperature inside your house, they also affect the humidity.
